Please join the Greater Boston Transit Justice Coalition, On The Move, for a full day summit on transit equity campaign and visioning for the future. Together we can improve public transportation policies this year. We can determine what public transit could be. Debt deteriorates our public transit system. Without action, we face another round of fare hikes and service cuts. We must move beyond the second class status of riders. Our lives depend on it.
Speak out for Ped/Bike safety improvements along Mass Ave in East Arlington
Going into its fourth year of planning, the Mass Ave Corridor plan in East Arlington has experienced significant delays due to opposition from a group of well-funded neighbors opposed to the Complete Streets approach to the project. The group has retained their own traffic engineers, attorneys and public-relations specialists to lobby MassDOT and FHWA against the “road diet” and maintain Mass Ave as four traffic lanes.
This forum will explore how investment in transportation is vital to economic development and quality of life in the Commonwealth.
The Massachusetts transportation system is struggling under the burden of billions of dollars of debt and deferred maintenance. Come join the discussion about how we can sustainably fund a transportation system for the 21st century.
Secretary of Transportation Richard Davey will present "The Way Forward: A 21st Century Transportation Plan," followed by a discussion with State Sen. Thomas McGee (D-Lynn) and area mayors and business leaders.
A public hearing to discuss the 25% design for the Casey Arborway Project
The Monsignor William J. Casey Overpass is the elevated section of Route 203 connecting the Arboretum at the Arborway over Washington and South Streets in Jamaica Plain.
The Overpass area serves many neighborhoods and constituencies, including walkers, bicyclists, MBTA riders, and motorists. The area is also an important connection to such Boston institutions as Franklin Park, Forest Hills Cemetery, Shattuck Hospital, and the Arnold Arboretum, among others.
