WalkBoston teamed up with Mayor Marty Walsh and a number of community organizations to host an annual walk in Dudley Square on May 8, 2014. The walk highlighted the varied community development, private redevelopment and public projects that are creating a renaissance in Dudley Square. Mayor Walsh offered brief remarks about the City’s role and efforts in Dudley.

Neighborhood community organizations joined WalkBoston to co-host the event, including ACE, Boston Housing Authority, Discover Roxbury, Dudley Square Main Streets, Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, Madison Park Development Corporation and Nuestra Comunidad. The walk included brief presentations about the Tropical Foods grocery store now under construction, the redevelopment of the Ferdinand Building, and the reclamation of Bartlett Yard as a mixed use, mixed income project. Each of the co-hosts also provided information about their ongoing activities at the reception. The walk and the reception at Hibernian Hall (184 Dudley Street, Boston, MA 02119) were open to the public.
