Each spring, we hold our Annual Celebration to celebrate achievements and to recognize the contributions from our board members, individual supporters and corporate members. The presentation of our Golden Shoe Awards is an integral part of the annual celebration. The Golden Shoes recognize individuals, agencies, municipalities and companies exemplifying the ideals of our mission.

Beat the Bay State Team Challenge

More people than ever are taking to the sidewalks to stay healthy, get to work, and safely connect with people during COVID 19. Starting November 1st, we’re challenging you to compete in the Beat the Bay State Challenge!

Log miles on foot to virtually trace the perimeter of Massachusetts in 30 days. Your participation will support WalkBoston’s work to advocate for wider sidewalks, support main street businesses and make streets safer for all!

WalkBoston is celebrating 30 years of statewide work to make Massachusetts more walkable. Combine efforts with a group of friends, co-workers, or family to cover the distance (900 miles) by walking or running. Your combined miles will add up through the challenge platform and move you along a virtual route that traces the outline of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Want to get involved but not able to field a team on your own? Sponsorship opportunities may be available! Please contact our Development Director, Althea Wong-Achorn, at awong-achorn@walkboston.org if you would like to apply.

We hope you’ll join us! Learn more |Register today
