Brand New This Year! Walking Evolution and Revolution Conference: March 26, The BSA Space
Join us at the first-ever conference in the Boston area focused on walkability: the Walking Evolution and Revolution Conference! Held in conjunction with WalkBoston’s 25th anniversary, the conference is being led by the Association for Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) Boston Chapter, WalkBoston, MAPC and Project for Public Spaces (PPS), and hosted at BSA Space, 290 Congress St, Boston MA.
Connect with planners, designers and advocates to explore the freshest thinking about walkability and place-making. Plan to attend WalkBoston's 25th Anniversary celebration the evening before the conference.
The Walking Evolution and Revolution Conference features:
- Four 90-minute break-out sessions in the morning (you choose two of four)
- Your choice of three, three-hour mobile tours in the afternoon (no snoozing after lunch!)
- One Minute Pitches before the classroom sessions begin
- Lunch plenary with new Boston Transportation
Commissioner Gina Fiandaca (your registration includes a box lunch)
- A social hour to wrap up the day, starting at 5:00 p.m.
APBP will apply to the AICP for Certification Maintenance credits for classroom and mobile sessions;
a certificate of attendance will be offered to those who document their professional development hours in other fields.

Call for Presentations - Walking Evolution and Revolution in One Minute!
Are you working on an innovative project that promotes/designs for walking that you would like to present at the conference? As part of the morning plenary session, we are providing the opportunity for 10 speakers to showcase their project. The requirements of the presentation are simple - one slide, one minute, one chance! To submit your project for consideration to present, please submit the following to firstname.lastname@example.org by March 11th:
1. The one slide
2. Maximum two paragraph description of the project that you will present on.
3. Your name, title and organization.
For the selected projects and presenters, on the day of the conference we ask you to bring a large (e.g., 3'x5') print out of your one slide and an easel for display. All conference participatns will be give one raffle ticket to vote for the best walking project throughout the day. Winner to be announced during the social hour!
